"C" TEAM BOYS bring home a "W" - they're 11-2!

The regular season is drawing nearer to a close - hopefully the trip to Rose Hill on Tuesday goes differently in a couple weeks when the Varsity Squads will return there for 4A Sub-State action. Of course, the boys and girls winner then is what counts the most - the loser's season will be over.

The Varsity Lady Crusaders Tuesday, took on the Lady Rockets for the third time this season at Rose Hill. Going in, each had a "W" and an "L" - our Lady Crusaders though had a lackluster road trip performance and never really established the tempo of the game in this third matchup of the season. At the final buzzer, Rose Hill in a convincing win, 49-33 and now the two await final judgement beginning March 2nd when both, along with Winfield and Mulvane will compete in the aforementioned 4A Sub-State Tournament at Rose Hill. The eventual boys and girls winners there will advance to the State 4A Tournament the following week in Salina. It is most conceivable that Rose Hill and Wellington will meet up in the Sub-State Championship game but not guaranteed. The brackets aren't out yet and both Mulvane and Winfield have struggled a bit this season but in single elimination tournament play, anything can happen.

The Varsity Crusaders came up short as well Tuesday but played better than this past Friday at home vs Andale. The boys have come up on the short end of several close contests this season...they have looked unbeatable at times, at other times, not as good. With just "3" regular season games remaining and 2 of the 3 at home, both varsity squads will be working on finishing strong and hopefully advancing out of Sub-State action to Salina in early March. It wil be tough, but it will be doable. Senior Night is on slate for Friday, Feb. 24th when the Crusaders host Collegiate. That following week, Sub-State @ Rose Hill.

Overall Tuesday evening, Rose Hill dominated. Our "C" Team boys though extended their season record to 11-2, downing their counterparts in a close battle 33-29 - congratulations gentlemen! Check out all of the outcomes below - let's JAM THE GYM on Friday and get the squads back on a winning track. The clock is ticking...the time is now. GO BIG RED!!
